YSIS Goddess is a round medium sized bag with a comfortable handle to be worn around the shoulder.
This bag features a small flap that closes with any lock of your choice. Perfect for sunny days, it can be made by combining colorful fabric prints with contrast fabric in vinyl, faux leather or cork.
Finished bag size: 30 cm high
x 40 cm wide x 10 cm deep
(11.8"x 15.7"x 3.9")
This is an intermediate level project but can also be attempted by a confident beginner.
Materials:
50 cm (20") exterior main fabric (quilting weight cotton is recommended)
50 cm (20") non woven contrast fabric ( faux leather, vinyl or cork)
50cm x 110cm (20" x 44") of 5mm (0.25" thick) foam stabilizer
15cm x 30cm (6" x 11.8") of Decovil 1 Light (medium weight stabiliser for the bag
bottom)
50 cm x 110cm (20" x 44”) of lining fabric
50cm x 110cm (20” x 44”) of Vilene G700 or SF101 (for light weight exterior
fabrics)
Fabric glue
About 30 rivets to attach the shoulder strap and for decorative functions on the top
and bottom contrast layers (size depends on the fabric chosen)
Rivet setter or press (highly recommended)
1 lock or any closure of your choice
2 pieces of 2.5cm or 3cm (1" or 1.25") gate rings
4 pieces of 10mm (1/2") eyelets
1 piece of 18cm (7") bag zipper (for interior zipper pocket if desired)
1 pair of pinking shears or pinking rotary cutter (you can get from Amazon or your
local craft store)
